Director Internal Audit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction and operational management for the auditing process, including planning, execution, and reporting.

• Manage the entire audit lifecycle, assessing the efficiency of internal controls.

• Supervise the implementation of the annual audit agenda, ensuring timely completion of all projects.

• Direct the organization-wide risk assessment initiative and oversee a team of internal audit managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, Insurance, or a related discipline.

• Certification as an Internal Auditor (CIA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is mandatory.

• 10+ years of experience in auditing, accounting, or business analysis.

• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

• Significant experience within the insurance or financial services sector is preferred.

• Advanced knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP/STAT) and internal control frameworks (COSO, COBIT).

• Proficient project management skills.
