Senior Director – Cyber Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Prepare for, identify, react to, and alleviate cyber threats that safeguard Live Nation Entertainment's data and assets.

• Lead a geographically dispersed team of technical detection and response analysts who monitor, detect, triage, and address security events across a 24/7 global network.

• Implement detection methodologies and establish baseline network traffic to pinpoint anomalous activities.

• Oversee operations of the Threat Detection and Response team, encompassing personnel management, training, and mentorship.

• Utilize automation and orchestration solutions to streamline repetitive tasks.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams, as well as subject matter experts, to tackle cybersecurity challenges and mitigate organizational risks.

• Support team projects and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing workflows, processes, monitoring, and response capabilities.

• Assist with incident response activities, which include threat hunting, data gathering and analysis, triage, containment, remediation, and documentation.

• Maintain process documentation and lessons learned, enhancing internal playbooks and scalability of responses.

• Develop and present metrics on team efficiency and effectiveness to leadership.

• Manage team members' career development, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

• Foster inclusiveness and team cohesion while providing excellent customer service.

• Research current trends, best practices, and technological advancements in cybersecurity.

• Participate in mandatory weekly on-call rotations.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Information Technology.

• Experience as part of a Security Operations Center (SOC).

• At least 2 years of experience as a Security Incident Response Analyst or in a related role.

• Experience in eDiscovery or similar roles performing forensic functions.

• 2+ years of experience in Information Security and Incident Response or a comparable discipline.

• 2+ years of experience in Linux/Unix, Mac, and Windows system analysis.

• Possession of at least one technical Cyber Security Certification, such as GCED, GCDA, or GDAT.

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Security, or Information Systems, or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Experience in a large enterprise setting managing a diverse array of security tools, including IDS/IPS, anti-malware, DLP, encryption, antivirus, firewalls, identity management, and NAC.

• Familiarity with the NIST Cyber Security Framework, NIST SP800-61 R2, and ISO/IEC 27035.

• Experience with threat modeling concepts, including threat indicators, threat actors, and attack surfaces.

• Understanding of network architecture and security infrastructure placement.

• Experience with SIEM technologies such as ArcSight, Splunk, or ELK Stack.

• In-depth technical expertise in Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.

• Some domestic and international travel may be required.

• Availability 24/7 during weekly on-call rotations.

• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain a U.S. government security clearance if required.

• Capability to identify and comprehend malware and threat actor operations.

• Knowledge of relevant SIEM data sources.

• Experience in analyzing event logs with threat detection tools.

• Proficiency in containment, eradication, remediation, and preservation of forensic artifacts.

• Understanding of security benchmarks and the hardening of physical and cloud devices.

• Ability to develop detection rules using API automation integrations.

• Experience in participating in both small- and large-scale incident response activities.

• Capability to design and implement dashboards, reports, and queries utilizing query and scripting languages.

• Ability to reverse engineer network or endpoint compromises.

• Proficiency in documenting event and incident timelines in internal ticketing systems.

• Strong leadership, analytical, strategic, organizational, negotiation, mediation, conflict management, mentorship, and customer service skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
