SOC Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist a Federal civilian agency’s Security Operations Center (SOC).

• Identify, analyze, and address potential intrusions and other security incidents.

• Gain insights from a skilled team of security experts on both traditional and innovative security operations techniques.

• Participate in scheduled 4 days/10-hour shifts across first, second, or third shift rotations.

• Availability to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience in Network Security.

• Practical experience with computers and networking.

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and key Internet protocols.

• Strong eagerness and capability to learn and explore new technologies.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.

• Experience in incident response (IR).

• Familiarity with Splunk ES (SIEM Platform).

• Knowledge of cybersecurity tool logs, including network and web application firewalls, vulnerability management, and proxy servers.

• Experience with analyzing EDR logs (MS Defender).

• Proficient in analyzing Windows event and Sysmon logs.

• Experience in analyzing VPN logs (GlobalProtect).

• Familiarity with ticketing solutions like ServiceNow.

• Experience with Jira/Confluence.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Current cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or CEH.

• Willingness to work in a SOC environment.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays.

• Capability to pass a Federal Civilian Agency’s clearance process.
