Senior Director, Business Development, Government/Federal Markets

📋 Description

• Accountable for creating and overseeing a strategically aligned pipeline for federal business development that supports Magellan Federal’s mission areas in health, readiness, and workforce support.

• Guides opportunities from the initial identification stage through qualification, collaborating closely with capture management to evaluate opportunity fit, strategy, and subsequent steps.

• Recognizes current and emerging client needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes to position Magellan Federal for sustainable growth.

• Works in collaboration with internal teams to produce qualification documents, aids in capture and proposal efforts, and offers guidance and mentorship to business development personnel.

• Formulates and implements federal account strategies that align with Magellan Federal’s strategic objectives, capabilities, client requirements, market trends, and competitive landscape to meet assigned growth targets.

• Oversees the federal business development pipeline in line with standard operating procedures, which includes opportunity identification, qualification, documentation, and lifecycle tracking.

• Provides mentorship and development opportunities for less experienced business development staff and promotes continuous improvement, audits, and compliance pertaining to business development tools, processes, and governance.

• Creates and delivers Identification and Qualification gate reviews, equipping leadership with strategic, technical, competitive, and pricing insights essential for making informed decisions to progress opportunities throughout the business development lifecycle.

• Assists capture and proposal managers during the capture and proposal stages, engaging in solution development, teaming strategies, and pricing methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of business development experience in support of federal health, readiness, or workforce initiatives, including expertise in behavioral health, mental health, counseling, human performance, transition assistance, or related services for military personnel, veterans, federal civilians, and their families.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.

• Established professional connections within federal civilian or defense agencies and industry partners pertinent to health, readiness, or workforce support programs.

• Proven track record of effective collaboration across internal teams, consultants, industry partners, and client stakeholders to drive revenue growth.

• Capability to develop and present executive-level presentations focused on business development strategies, pipeline management, and execution.

• Demonstrated history of achieving or surpassing business development performance targets, including revenue growth goals.

• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
