
Senior Director, Business Development β Expeditionary Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Take ownership and expand the expeditionary systems pipeline across all three mission domains β compute and infrastructure, command and control, and sensor/effector transport.
β’ Lead end-to-end capture initiatives for major programs within the portfolio β encompassing requirement shaping through proposal submission to contract award.
β’ Manage the go-to-market strategy for an emerging category β expeditionary systems β which is not limited to a single product line.
β’ Focus on selling the system rather than just the product. Structure wins to incorporate Andurilβs broader compute and software offerings.
β’ Establish and maintain direct relationships with general and flag officers, SES leaders, PEOs, capability portfolio managers, and key decision-makers among senior coalition partners.
β’ Develop and implement partnership strategies with hyperscale cloud service providers and leading AI companies.
β’ Work in close collaboration with engineering, product, operations, and manufacturing teams to align what we sell with our building and delivery capabilities.
β’ Influence long-term business opportunities through live force exercises, user insights, and direct interaction with operational units.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of direct business development or sales experience in defense, national security, or related technology sectors, with a proven record of successfully closing large, complex contracts ($50M+).
β’ A history of meeting and exceeding quotas or booking targets. Experience in a commission-based or performance-driven sales environment rather than a purely salaried business development role.
β’ Proficient in building pipeline from initial market development through to programmatic funding and contract acquisition.
β’ Strong technical fluency across the expeditionary systems stack β including distributed systems and edge/data-center compute (your core focus), along with sufficient command-and-control and sensor/effector integration knowledge to market the entire category.
β’ Previous experience in bringing expeditionary or tactical capabilities to market across various use cases β such as AI/ML at the edge, data ingestion, application hosting, command and control, ISR/sensor integration, JADC2, and similar domains.
β’ A solid understanding of the current market demand for expeditionary systems and emerging capability trends β with knowledge of who is purchasing, what they are acquiring, and identifying existing gaps.
β’ In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, government contracting methods, and capability transition pathways (OTAs, FAR/DFAR, MTA, JCIDS, etc.).
β’ Established relationships with senior government decision-makers β including general/flag officers, SES leaders, and program executive offices.
