Senior Director Analyst – Software Engineering, AI, Agentic Applications

📋 Description

• Generate innovative, thought-provoking, and essential insights content that is highly leveraged

• Create new insights and actionable strategies to meet client needs and requests

• Perform comprehensive analysis to uncover root causes of client challenges and reframe thinking to enhance strategy

• Establish insights positions within a team of analysts

• Provide independent insights to Gartner leaders and influence research agendas

• Conduct research, analysis, and market trend predictions

• Deliver actionable recommendations to clients and prospects through both virtual and in-person interactions

• Craft and present high-value presentations for Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings

• Support BTI and Sales by acting as the voice of the market and facilitating client engagement

• Ensure timely, high-quality peer review of content

• Represent Gartner’s insights, methodology, and strategy as an industry authority

• Engage in innovation, ideation, research discussions, and collaboration with Insights peers

• Identify enhancements in research processes and develop new service delivery methods

• Mentor and coach junior team members

• Encourage clients to maintain regular engagement with Gartner insights and interactions

• Advise software engineering leaders globally on the development, management, and operation of AI-powered applications and AI agent-based systems

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred

• Over 12 years of relevant field or industry experience

• Proven experience leading teams in the design, development, and deployment of AI-native applications

• Familiarity with applications powered by large language models (LLMs) and AI agent architectures

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience of agentic AI frameworks, orchestration platforms, model providers, and autonomous or semi-autonomous AI systems

• Solid understanding of AI application architectures, including model integration, context management, harnesses, evaluation frameworks, observability, and production application management

• Awareness of leading vendors and platforms in the AI application and agentic AI development landscape

• Capability to evaluate vendor and platform advantages, drawbacks, risks, and use cases

• Executive presence with the ability to build credibility with executives and stakeholders

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to perform under tight deadlines

• Excellence in research and writing

• Proficient written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills

• Ability to engage clients and effectively respond to inquiries

• Proficient in data analysis, synthesis, and critical thinking

• Skill in conveying complex concepts in a clear and straightforward manner

• Proven track record of speaking at both large and small-scale events

• Strong business and financial insights

• In-depth knowledge of the global competitive landscape within the field

• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global environment

• Capability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, where applicable
