Senior DevSecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee all stages of data processing system projects, from defining requirements to installation.

• Direct technical efforts in creating, implementing, and sustaining complex systems.

• Create test plans, software, and procedures to enhance processing capabilities.

• Assist production systems by troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring continuous functionality.

• Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines; standardize and promote process adoption.

• Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.

• Identify and automate manual processes through operational and development scripting.

• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting tools; conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues.

• Apply security best practices and tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Collaborate with development, QA, Application Security, Governance, and IT teams.

• Implement and manage Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.

• Assess and enhance department systems, processes, and applications.

• Construct modules, develop testing methods, design materials, estimate feature timelines, and implement system changes.

• Execute test plans to confirm application functionalities.

• Gather user-requested data, define scope and time estimates, and evaluate system impacts.

• Review business and programming specifications, code, test plans, documentation, and implementation strategies.

• Provide technical support for production systems, anticipate maintenance requirements, and ensure end-user functionality.

• Prepare system, end-user, and operational documentation.

• Engage in complex software development lifecycle activities and act as a technical resource for management, associates, and business units.

• Offer round-the-clock on-call support through rotations.

• Provide technical guidance to less experienced associates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience in software application development and maintenance, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of experience in the same field.

• Over 8 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related fields.

• More than 6 years of experience in architecting, developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.

• At least 5 years of experience in implementing DevSecOps practices, security controls, and automated compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in developing automation solutions with Python, Bash, and other scripting languages.

• Familiarity with major technology stacks used in modern application development.

• Experience in developing build processes for Java, .NET, iOS, and Android, and automating deployment processes for OpenShift and VMs.

• Knowledge of AWS and Azure is advantageous.

• Practical experience in Linux environments (RHEL), Ansible, writing playbooks, deploying artifacts, configuring monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace), performing tool upgrades, patching, migrations, and addressing security vulnerabilities.

• Experience in automating deployment and release processes across OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, virtual machines, and cloud environments.

• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform for provisioning cloud infrastructure and deploying DevSecOps tools.

• In-depth knowledge of security scans and experience incorporating them into the CI/CD pipeline.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including App Security, Application Engineering, Quality Automation Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.

• Experience migrating applications between different SCMs.

• Working knowledge of Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm.

• Familiarity with enterprise systems tools and processes, including AWS stack, JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Nexus, Artifactory, Snyk, and SonarQube.

• Availability for 24/7 on-call support through rotations.
