This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure & Systems teams to create and implement solutions that enhance developer velocity, infrastructure resilience, security, and availability.
• Establish, refine, and ensure compliance with team SLO/SLI objectives.
• Lead service reviews, conduct fire drills, engage in chaos testing, manage incident responses, and facilitate incident post-mortems.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and use cases, developing a unified strategy.
• Create scripts and tools for service deployment and configuration updates.
• Engage in technical discussions to shape robust and high-performing solutions.
• Coordinate and execute major upgrades without any downtime.
• Ensure systems are updated for security compliance.
• Diagnose complex technical issues.
• Address live performance and stability concerns while preventing future occurrences.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
• Build, manage, and continually enhance highly available, resilient, and scalable cloud-native services.
• Take ownership of service health, operational excellence, disaster recovery preparedness, security compliance, CI/CD automation, monitoring, infrastructure as code, and incident management.
• Maintain Kubernetes-based workloads, AWS infrastructure, MongoDB-backed services, Dynatrace observability platforms, cloud automation, disaster recovery solutions, and secure operational processes.
• Report directly to the Manager of Software Development.
• A minimum of 5 years of production experience with large-scale cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an SRE Developer.
• Strong ability to track and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understanding of DevOps best practices, architectures, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, including JavaScript, Python, or Linux/Unix Shell.
• Experience with cloud-native applications.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Experience managing SaaS database solutions such as MongoDB Atlas, DynamoDB, or Redshift.
• Proficient in configuration management tools and cloud automation technologies like Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
• Experienced in defining and building CI/CD processes and utilizing common CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or Spinnaker.
• Skilled in developing AWS applications using Step Functions, IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
• Preferred: Knowledge of REST API consumption, design, and implementation.
• Preferred: Understanding of networking and security concepts.
• Preferred: Experience with log ingestion, monitoring, and discoverability tools like New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, or Bugsnag.
• Preferred: Security/audit experience, such as SOC 2 or FedRAMP compliance.
