Senior Developer/Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop enterprise-level Amazon Lex bots from the initial requirements gathering to final production deployment.

• Create high-performing conversational experiences for both voice and chat.

• Integrate Amazon Lex with Amazon Connect and various AWS serverless services.

• Analyze conversations in production to enhance intent recognition, bot efficiency, and overall customer experience.

• Lead a small development team while actively participating in coding, troubleshooting, testing, and optimization tasks.

• Design scalable intent models, custom slot types, prompts, and dialog management strategies.

• Improve natural language understanding performance through ongoing tuning based on production traffic and conversation analytics.

• Build multilingual conversational experiences.

• Create strategies for fallback, clarification, interruption, escalation, and error handling.

• Implement conversational design and prompt-engineering principles to enhance customer interactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience in software development.

• At least 3 years of direct experience with Amazon Lex V2 development.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in integrating Amazon Lex with Amazon Connect.

• Strong background in designing and developing AWS serverless architectures.

• Proven experience in leading developers while remaining engaged in technical delivery.

• Essential skills in Amazon Lex V2, intent and slot modeling, custom slot types, dialog management, session attributes, AWS Lambda code hooks, prompt variations, DTMF integration, confidence score tuning, and multilingual bot development.

• Required knowledge of AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon Connect.

• Proficiency in English and French is preferred.

• AWS Associate-level or Professional-level certification is preferred.

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock is preferred.

• Familiarity with intent classification, entity recognition, prompt engineering, conversational design, natural language processing, natural language understanding, and fundamentals of generative AI.
