Senior Developer – Quality Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Suggest, develop, and sustain modular Quality Engineering (QE) tools that can be utilized across various projects.

• Partner with product, editorial, and engineering teams to integrate quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.

• Embed automated tools and testing into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate swift deployments and minimize production errors.

• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for essential workflows, including content ingestion, publishing, personalization, and user engagement.

• Advocate for testability and observability in environments with high traffic and high availability.

• Guide teams on automation best practices and enhance developer accountability for quality.

• Evaluate test outcomes and production metrics to uncover trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.

• Create services and pipelines utilizing cloud resources.

• Incorporate dashboards, alerting features, and other observability tools.

• Expand quality engineering tools across the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of development experience.

• Proficient in TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Python, Java, or Ruby.

• Experience with containers and the creation of configuration files, such as Docker.

• Background in deploying and maintaining serverless projects using Google Cloud Run/Functions, AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.

• Experience with CI tools and the construction of CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

• Proficient in ingesting, storing, organizing, displaying, and analyzing data using tools like Google Cloud BigQuery, Data Studio, SQL, and Grafana.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

• Experience in architecting or designing multi-step software systems or pipelines, particularly with cloud tools, is a plus.

• Familiarity with test automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or JUnit is an advantage.
