Senior Developer – Quality Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain modular Quality Engineering (QE) tools applicable across multiple projects.

• Partner with product, editorial, and engineering teams to integrate quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.

• Incorporate automated tools and tests into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate swift deployment and reduce production defects.

• Guarantee test coverage for essential workflows, including content ingestion, publishing, personalization, and user engagement.

• Advocate for testability and observability within high-traffic, high-availability settings.

• Guide teams on automation best practices and promote early testing methodologies.

• Evaluate test results and production metrics to uncover trends, gaps, and areas for enhancement.

• Develop and sustain custom tools, services, and pipelines utilizing cloud resources.

• Implement dashboards, alerting systems, and additional observability features.

• Expand quality engineering tools throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 3 years of development experience.

• Expertise in TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Python, Java, or Ruby.

• Experience with containers and the creation of configuration files, including Docker.

• Proficient in deploying and managing serverless projects using Google Cloud Run/Functions, AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

• Familiar with CI tools and constructing CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

• Skilled in ingesting, storing, organizing, displaying, and analyzing data utilizing tools like Google Cloud BigQuery, Data Studio, SQL, and Grafana.

• Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach.

• Experience in architecting or designing multi-step software systems or pipelines is advantageous.

• Exposure to test automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or JUnit is a plus.

• A strong appreciation for quality in digital products and services.

• Ability to solve problems and tailor solutions focused on stakeholder needs.

• Strategic mindset towards automation, balancing speed, coverage, cost, and maintainability.
