Senior Developer – Duck Creek Billing Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, modify, troubleshoot, and assess business applications and software solutions.

• Deliver project outputs and provide assistance with post-implementation support and system improvements.

• Create code and build solutions that fulfill business and technical requirements.

• Collaborate with stakeholders from the design phase through testing, production, and ongoing support.

• Address programming challenges to align with business needs.

• Convert technical design specifications into programming instructions.

• Debug standard programs and compile program documentation.

• Plan and oversee critical systems and monitoring efforts.

• Investigate application failures and suggest corrective measures.

• Assess system performance and propose enhancements for application processing or resource utilization.

• Maintain architectural integrity and consistency across all products.

• Present architectural strategies for web, client, server, and additional software applications.

• Manage Sprint backlogs and ensure dashboards reflect the necessary metrics.

• Facilitate end-user support.

• Develop solution options based on system capabilities, standard procedures, and industry trends.

• Supply documentation, including test plan designs, and support development, delivery, testing, and business teams.

• Oversee user and systems administration.

• Monitor system and hardware performance and usage.

• Manage the system change process effectively.

• Provide effort estimates and completion timelines.

• Review deliverables, assist other analysts, and offer knowledge transfer and ad hoc training.

• Investigate production issues and support the Application Support team.

• Help the business articulate enhancements to resolve problems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12 to 14 years of practical experience in application software development with a strong emphasis on Duck Creek Billing.

• Significant experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance sector, including roles as Billing Architect and Technical Lead.

• Extensive knowledge of Personal Lines Insurance, encompassing Homeowners, Casualty, and Motorcycle products.

• Experience in designing, configuring, customizing, and supporting Duck Creek Billing utilizing Author, Express, and Server.

• Advanced skills in ManuScript development, configuration management, inheritance frameworks, and version control.

• Experience integrating Duck Creek Billing with external applications and services using XML, XSLT, XPath, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON.

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including complex stored procedures, triggers, queries, and XQuery.

• Capability to provide architectural guidance and suggest design enhancements.

• Experience in establishing development standards, conducting code evaluations, and enforcing best practices.

• Experience as a Subject Matter Expert mentoring junior and mid-level developers.

• Ability to lead development teams while remaining actively involved in coding and technical solution delivery.

• Understanding of P&C billing operations, including billing, installment plans, PCN processing, commissions, disbursements, and payment processing.

• Experience collaborating with business analysts, solution architects, product owners, and delivery managers in Agile settings.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Duck Creek Billing Configuration Certification is essential.

• Experience with large-scale Duck Creek Billing implementations, upgrades, and production support engagements is preferred.

• API framework experience is required.

• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adhere to project timelines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with 10+ years of relevant experience.
