Senior Developer

📋 Description

• You will design, develop, and maintain essential features for web and mobile applications, overseeing the entire delivery process.

• You will tackle intricate engineering challenges—such as scale, concurrency, background processing, and data ingestion—supporting your solutions with data rather than mere intuition.

• You will integrate and manage third-party tools and services to ensure our platform remains connected, reliable, and operates smoothly.

• You will work collaboratively with Product, Customer Care, and Finance teams to define new features, address production issues, and ensure that what is released functions effectively in real-life scenarios.

• You will enhance the development team through pull request reviews, collaboration on complex tasks, knowledge sharing, and mentorship that elevates the entire team's performance.

• You will leverage AI to optimize processes, minimize friction, and reclaim time for the most impactful work.

• You will contribute to a secure and well-structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), writing code that is not only functional but also maintainable, tested, and built to endure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments: you have built and deployed real features in Rails at scale, understanding the distinction between functional code and robust code.

• Strong foundational knowledge in front-end development: you are proficient with core JavaScript, capable of building resilient UI features, and have experience with React, React Native, or similar component-based frameworks. While you don’t need to be a front-end expert, you should be confident navigating the front end when needed.

• Proficient SQL and data analysis skills: you instinctively turn to data as a critical part of problem-solving—whether diagnosing performance issues, validating hypotheses, or analyzing feature behavior in production.

• A solid grasp of engineering principles: SOLID principles, domain-driven design, efficient queries, and robust testing practices (both unit and integration) are integral to your work, not just topics for interviews.

• A full-stack perspective: you take ownership of your features from back end to front end, including automated tests, real-world testing, demos, and delivery. Every developer here shares this same approach.

• Experience addressing scale and concurrency challenges: you have navigated queuing, background processing, and efficient ingestion of third-party data, anticipating potential points of failure before they occur.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: sprint planning, story grooming, stand-ups, and scrum are regular aspects of your workflow, not burdensome overhead.

• The ability to adapt between rapid development and clean code: you recognize when speed is essential for an experiment and when it is time to ensure the MVP is sustainable within the codebase for years to come.

• Comfort with standard development tools: Git, GitHub, Jira, and a reliable code editor, along with a knack for selecting the perfect animated gif when a pull request successfully merges.
