• Contribute to shaping the educational platform and guiding the learning experience, focusing not only on the content but also on its overall direction.
• Create and develop courses, tutorials, and labs that prioritize hands-on exercises, with practical examples at the heart of the learning experience, supported by videos, guides, and structured learning paths.
• Generate educational video content, which includes comprehensive walkthroughs as well as concise 'aha moment' clips.
• Develop interactive AI and agent-related content, featuring robust AI agent examples that illustrate how Temporal supports dependable AI systems.
• Craft learning experiences that align with contemporary developer workflows, incorporating AI-assisted, hybrid, and interactive formats.
• Ensure educational materials remain consistent with the latest product capabilities and recommended architectural patterns.
• Create and sustain reference implementations, labs, and best-practice examples for typical developer and enterprise scenarios in one or more of Temporal’s SDK languages.
• Occasionally represent the education department in person by staffing a booth at conferences or events, and from time to time, directly instructing groups through workshops, training sessions, or presentations.
• Collaborate with enterprise-facing teams (Solutions Architecture, Sales, Field Marketing, Developer Success) to transform their requirements into scalable educational assets like workshops, deep dives, and enablement materials that extend beyond single-customer engagements.
• Assist in managing trainer and developer certification programs by aiding in the definition of competencies, creation of assessments, and iterative improvements based on feedback.
• Gather and disseminate developer feedback collected from trainings, events, and community interactions, providing actionable insights to Product and Engineering to enhance the education strategy and product direction.
• A robust software engineering background with the capability to create production-quality, functional examples in at least one of Temporal's primary SDK languages (Go, Java, TypeScript, Python, or .NET).
• A solid grasp of distributed systems fundamentals, including aspects such as state management, fault tolerance, concurrency, and event-driven architectures.
• Proven experience in producing high-quality technical education content (tutorials, workshops, courses, documentation, or similar) aimed at developer audiences.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and pragmatically to both technical and mixed audiences, utilizing a storytelling approach to teach through narrative rather than just listing features.
• Capability to function effectively as a senior individual contributor: taking ownership of projects, advancing them with minimal supervision, and rapidly iterating based on feedback.
• A keen instinct for product ownership: considering the entire learner experience and the educational platform, rather than focusing solely on individual assets.
• Ability to balance execution with strategic program-level thinking, including collaboration across various functions such as Product, Engineering, Developer Success, Marketing, and Solutions Architecture.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, events, customer training, and team offsites.
• Unlimited PTO, along with 12 Holidays and 2 Floating Holidays.
• Complete coverage of premiums for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
• Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Long-Term & Short-Term Disability, and Life Insurance (Standard & Supplemental options available).
• Empower 401K Plan.
• Additional perks for Learning & Development, Lifestyle Spending, In-Home Office Setup, Professional Memberships, WFH Meals, Internet Stipend, and more!
