This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver maintained reference implementations, encompassing MCP servers with production authentication, gateway setups, and agentic workflows.
• Educate developers on agentic workflows through demonstrations, technical articles, conference presentations, and videos.
• Oversee the technical aspects of video content across platforms such as YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.
• Utilize Prefect tools as an initial user, pinpoint DX gaps, report issues, contribute documentation pull requests, and enhance examples.
• Represent Prefect in public forums through conference presentations, PyAI, livestreams, podcast episodes, and MCP/Python AI communities.
• Collect feedback on confusion, failures, and absent features, transforming it into actionable product insights for engineering teams.
• Write in Python or other programming languages weekly while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
• Report directly to the Chief Growth Officer.
• Travel for events, spending several days each quarter in Prefect's recording studio.
• Over 6 years of professional software development experience; strong Python skills are preferred.
• A publicly accessible portfolio of technical work, including repositories, articles, documentation, talks, or videos utilized by developers.
• Experience in building with LLMs and agents, covering MCP servers, tool invocation, agent frameworks, or retrieval.
• Insights on what issues arise when LLM and agent products are delivered to users.
• Comfortable on camera and stage, or demonstrably capable of becoming proficient in public speaking.
• Ability to work independently as a one-person team, making choices, delivering, and assessing work autonomously.
• Active involvement or significant contribution to a well-regarded open-source project (preferred).
• An existing developer audience on platforms like YouTube, X, Twitch, a newsletter, or similar (preferred).
• Background in data engineering or orchestration with Prefect, Dagster, Airflow, or dbt (preferred).
• Capability to discuss SSO, RBAC, audit logs, and PII with platform or security engineers (preferred).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States of America.
