This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Direct the exploration and definition of innovative digital experience models across both web and mobile platforms.
• Create and validate GM's future design vision, facilitating its application throughout digital experiences.
• Envision comprehensive web experiences from inception to execution.
• Identify and document novel interaction models.
• Prototype aspirational concepts that will shape long-term digital strategies.
• Tackle ambiguous, cross-functional challenges through strategic thinking and design discipline.
• Establish experience frameworks and design patterns for product teams to evolve into web components, contributing to the design system.
• Define experiential language, interaction principles, and storytelling methods for emerging digital journeys.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, research, and marketing teams to validate concepts through experimentation.
• Convert emerging technologies and behaviors into actionable design guidelines.
• Engage in design reviews, iterating based on feedback, and present work that emphasizes visual clarity, craftsmanship, and excellence in execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 7 years of experience in digital product and experience design, including senior-level roles.
• Proven experience in designing concept-driven, forward-thinking work across web and mobile platforms.
• Capacity to define interaction models, experience architectures, intricate patterns, and design frameworks at a systemic level.
• Advanced proficiency in digital design and prototyping tools, with Figma as a requirement.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex ideas.
• A portfolio showcasing brand design, visual design, typography, hierarchy, color, and motion.
• Strong UX skills with portfolio case studies that demonstrate UX strategy translated into enhanced user journeys.
• No GM immigration-related sponsorship available now or in the future.
• Preferred: Over 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Preferred: Experience in advanced, exploratory, or innovation-oriented design teams.
• Preferred: Background in integrating emerging technologies such as automation, intelligence, or new input modalities.
• Preferred: Experience aligning company-wide product strategy, roadmap decisions, or platform vision through design.
• Preferred: Experience collaborating with multiple teams to elevate design quality.
• Preferred: Experience in large, matrixed organizations with distributed teams.
