Senior Datacap Administrator / Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, configure, and enhance applications utilizing IBM Datacap.

• Create and maintain Datacap rulesets, workflows, tasks, actions, document hierarchies, validation rules, and verification processes.

• Configure and optimize OCR functionalities, document recognition, classification, data extraction, field validation, image processing, and batch processing.

• Develop reusable components and custom actions/extensions for Datacap.

• Implement business rules for efficient document processing, routing, validation, and exception handling.

• Install, configure, manage, and maintain IBM Datacap environments.

• Provide support for Datacap Server, Rulerunner, Datacap Studio, and Datacap Navigator.

• Oversee Development, Test, QA, UAT, and Production environments.

• Monitor application health, manage queues, logs, throughput, and performance metrics.

• Troubleshoot issues related to failed batches, Rulerunner, OCR, extraction errors, workflow disruptions, connectivity, and performance problems.

• Carry out patching, upgrades, configuration management, and environment migrations.

• Engage in requirements analysis, solution design, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Convert business requirements and user stories into technical solutions for Datacap.

• Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions, effort estimation, release planning, code reviews, and peer reviews.

• Assist in functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.

• Diagnose defects and implement permanent solutions.

• Support releases and ensure post-deployment stability.

• Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, SOAP web services, databases, file-based interfaces, enterprise content repositories, business applications, and workflow platforms.

• Integrate Datacap with IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Content Navigator as needed.

• Manage database lookups, metadata mapping, document/metadata exports, API data exchanges, retries, error handling, audit logging, and exception management.

• Develop and support custom Datacap components using C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, SQL, XML, REST, and SOAP technologies.

• Operate within secure enterprise and federal government environments.

• Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, federal information security controls, secure software development protocols, IAM/RBAC, audit logging, vulnerability remediation, application security, PII protection, and change/configuration management.

• Support Git/source control and CI/CD practices, automated deployment, build/release management, configuration management, branching, deployment automation, monitoring, and incident management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with IBM Datacap.

• In-depth knowledge of IBM Datacap versions 9.x / 9.1.x.

• Proficient in Datacap Studio development.

• Strong skills in Rulerunner administration and development.

• Experience in developing Datacap rulesets, workflows, tasks, and actions.

• Comprehensive understanding of document capture and intelligent document processing.

• Familiarity with OCR, classification, extraction, validation, and verification processes.

• Experience in enterprise Datacap administration.

• Proven troubleshooting skills in production environments.

• Experience with Datacap integration into databases and enterprise systems.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Knowledge of REST and/or SOAP integration.

• Familiarity with Windows Server and IIS.

• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting abilities.

• Experience in Agile application and product development.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred qualifications include: familiarity with IBM FileNet P8, IBM Content Navigator, C#/.NET, custom Datacap action development, Java/JavaScript, SQL Server/Oracle/DB2, federal government IT, FISMA/NIST standards, DevSecOps, CI/CD, enterprise application integration, and sensitive/PII data handling, including experience in building new enterprise products.
