
Senior Database Engineer – Oracle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and construct software applications from the product vision phase to implementation.
• Create database applications and reusable software components for the Cotiviti product suite.
• Lead application design efforts through global teams to develop applications that deliver business value.
• Assess new technologies, external products, and designs against roadmap requirements and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure and architecture.
• Design, maintain, and continuously improve the product codebase and continuous integration pipeline.
• Investigate and address performance and stability issues in production systems.
• Conduct PL/SQL and query performance tuning on large-volume production datasets.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to expedite PL/SQL coding, code review, and testing.
• Work together with globally distributed teams, software engineers, DevOps engineers, business owners, project management, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify areas for enhancement in scalability, performance, security, and serviceability.
• Fulfill assigned performance objectives, special projects, and other responsibilities.
• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise software design and development utilizing Oracle.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Practical experience with advanced Oracle features such as BULK Collection.
• Expertise in Oracle RDBMS database development and performance tuning.
• Experience in PL/SQL performance tuning on large-volume datasets, including execution plan analysis, bulk operations, partitioning, and indexing strategies.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for PL/SQL development, code review, and testing.
• In-depth knowledge of advanced Oracle database development features.
• Experience using JIRA and GIT.
• Knowledge of functional programming is preferred.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Exposure to or involvement in Agile Scrum techniques is preferred.
• Experience in configuring CI servers such as Hudson, Jenkins, Bamboo, or Cruise Control.
• Background in CI/CD implementation.
• Ability to communicate effectively to exchange information.
• Capacity to evaluate the accuracy, neatness, and comprehensiveness of assigned tasks.
• Ability to provide a dedicated and secure work environment.
• Capacity to ensure high-speed internet access/connectivity and maintain an office setup.
