Senior Database Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance Aurora/RDS PostgreSQL, focusing on query, index, and parameter optimization.

• Provide support for satellite services including DynamoDB, Redis, OpenSearch, SQL Server, and MySQL.

• Implement backup, replication, failover, proactive monitoring, and automate operational processes.

• Develop and uphold provisioning routines using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Manage access controls, permissions, encryption, and governance standards.

• Advise teams on effective data modeling practices.

• Facilitate the use of vector databases with pgvector and integrate AI tools into daily workflows.

• Perform troubleshooting calmly under pressure, ensuring clear communication.

• Guarantee operational continuity.

• Operate with technical independence, lead critical incidents, and offer a consultative approach to assist engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive administration experience with Aurora/RDS PostgreSQL in critical, high-scale production settings.

• Proficient in SQL optimization, execution plan analysis (EXPLAIN/ANALYZE), and relational modeling.

• Knowledge of high availability and resilience strategies such as read replicas, Multi-AZ, failover, and disaster recovery.

• Experience in monitoring and observability within AWS (CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Enhanced Monitoring).

• Understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, VPCs, subnets, security groups, and encryption (KMS/TLS).

• Proficient in scripting for operational automation using Python or Bash.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with DynamoDB, Redis, OpenSearch, SQL Server, or MySQL.

• Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.

• Familiarity with vector databases (pgvector), generative AI, and container technologies (Docker).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.

• Excellent consultative communication skills.
