This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Ensure the operational stability, availability, performance, and security of Microsoft SQL Server environments that are vital for supporting critical business applications.
• Manage and enhance SQL Server environments (2017 and 2022) on both on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure, while ensuring adherence to corporate standards and best practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance-related issues, incidents, and database failures, conducting root cause analysis and executing corrective measures.
• Spearhead initiatives focused on high availability, backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and the resilience of the environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize data modeling, SQL queries, stored procedures, and deployment workflows.
• Lead database automation and modernization efforts, such as Database-as-Code, integration with CI/CD pipelines, and the adoption of cloud solutions.
• Establish and uphold administration standards, operational procedures, security protocols, and governance practices.
• Work alongside infrastructure, cloud, security, and engineering teams for capacity planning, platform lifecycle management, compliance, and technological transformation.
• Generate technical documentation and disseminate knowledge within the DBA team.
• Participate in on-call rotations and offer support for critical production incidents, maintenance tasks, and deployments.
• Profound understanding of relational database principles, enterprise architecture, and best practices in database administration.
• Extensive experience in managing Microsoft SQL Server versions 2017 and 2022.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and clustering technologies.
• Understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Experience with Service Broker.
• Acquainted with SQL Profiler and performance analysis tools.
• Proficient in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Expertise in SQL query optimization, execution plans, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience in analyzing and resolving deadlocks.
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and linked servers.
• Experience managing SQL Server workloads in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Machines and Azure SQL.
• Understanding of database security measures, role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, auditing, and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with Database-as-Code concepts and methodologies for version-controlled database deployment.
• Basic knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform and Packer.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices as they relate to the database lifecycle.
• Experience with database monitoring, performance diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of automation through PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with structured change and release management processes.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
