This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise database platforms across various environments.
• Execute database patching, upgrades, schema modifications, and configuration adjustments.
• Design and enhance indexing strategies, query plans, and database architectures.
• Implement and uphold high availability, clustering, replication, and failover functionalities.
• Conduct performance tuning, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot complex database challenges.
• Oversee backup and recovery processes.
• Support RMF security control families AU, AC, and SC through logging, auditing, encryption, and access control configurations.
• Apply STIGs, security patches, and adhere to DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Collaborate with developers on stored procedures, data modeling, and performance enhancements.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity teams regarding vulnerabilities, scan outcomes, and compliance documentation.
• Maintain operational documentation, configuration baselines, and database runbooks.
• Provide technical assistance during deployments, release cycles, and environment refreshes.
• Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of database operations.
• Must possess an active Top Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 5 background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Database Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator within enterprise-level environments.
• Proficiency in installation, patching, configuration, performance tuning, and indexing optimization.
• Experience with implementing high availability, clustering, replication, or failover strategies.
• Familiarity with supporting RMF security controls, particularly AU, AC, and SC families.
• Background in database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery practices.
• Experience with applying STIGs, security configurations, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Expertise in relational database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Strong SQL capabilities, including query optimization and execution plan analysis.
• Knowledge of database auditing, logging, encryption, and access control.
• Familiarity with IL5 cloud database hosting patterns.
• Experience utilizing monitoring and performance analytics tools.
• Required CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex database issues.
• Ability to manage high-availability environments and critical data systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to secure, stable, and optimized database operations.
