Senior Data Scientist, Operations Research – Revenue Management, Fleet Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated fleet planning systems that aid in purchasing, pricing, and financial forecasting.

• Formulate and resolve linear, nonlinear, dynamic, and stochastic optimization challenges to enhance margins and support business decision-making processes.

• Articulate planning outcomes and their underlying rationale to stakeholders throughout the organization.

• Construct models that encapsulate the intricacies of car rental pricing strategies and vehicle distribution.

• Keep abreast of advancements in revenue management, operations research, and machine learning.

• Introduce innovative concepts to the team.

• Offer mentorship and support to junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in mathematical optimization, encompassing linear, nonlinear, and integer programming.

• Proficiency with solvers and algorithm development, including dynamic and stochastic programming.

• Master’s degree or higher in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or another related quantitative discipline.

• Thorough understanding of both supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods.

• Knowledge of model evaluation and transitioning models from experimentation to dependable, maintainable production systems.

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, and production deployment.

• Capability to leverage AI tools to expedite development and analysis while promoting adoption across the team.

• Skill in converting complex issues into actionable models and analyses.

• Ability to convey findings clearly to various audiences.

• Experience in revenue management or stock optimization implementation and optimization is a plus.
