Senior Data Scientist – Fraud Prevention

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead comprehensive Data Science initiatives, encompassing problem definition in collaboration with Product and Operations, through to delivering solutions into production.

• Monitor business outcomes and consistently enhance solutions.

• Design, execute, and sustain production Machine Learning pipelines, both for batch processing and real-time applications.

• Guarantee reliability, scalability, and maintainability in high-volume, low-latency settings.

• Oversee the model lifecycle, including experimentation, validation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

• Establish metrics and monitoring protocols for data drift and concept drift.

• Develop and refine batch and real-time inference systems.

• Collaborate on architectural trade-offs related to parallelization, concurrency, and low latency.

• Enhance latency, throughput, and resource utilization efficiency.

• Establish and advance MLOps practices, covering infrastructure, deployment, observability, version control, automation, and continuous monitoring.

• Collaborate with Engineering Tech Leaders and Product Managers to design solutions that facilitate production deliveries.

• Stay informed about the latest trends in Data Science best practices and AI-assisted development tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of classic Machine Learning algorithms for classification and regression, including XGBoost, LightGBM, and Random Forest.

• Proven experience in productionizing and maintaining live and batch Machine Learning models.

• Familiarity with live models delivered via APIs, with a focus on high concurrency and low latency.

• Experience in managing and monitoring models in a production environment.

• Proficiency with frameworks such as MLflow.

• Strong skills in SQL, Python, and Spark for analyzing extensive datasets.

• Understanding of statistical inference and practical experience conducting A/B tests.

• Familiarity with structured development and code version control using Git.

• Ability to convey technical results and translate statistical metrics into business outcomes.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.

• Preferred qualifications include experience with Databricks, fintech companies, the payments industry or financial institutions, fraud prevention, financial fraud metrics, Kafka, Kinesis, Graph Data Science, graph databases, and AWS.
