This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of analytical strategies by independently defining approaches, designing research methodologies, and offering strategic advice to stakeholders.
• Create, validate, and implement machine learning models utilizing predictive modeling, Random Forest techniques, Bayesian hierarchical modeling, and geospatial analysis.
• Collaborate directly with external clients and government representatives to comprehend project requirements, manage expectations, and deliver effective data science solutions.
• Communicate intricate technical findings, methodologies, and actionable insights to stakeholders and decision-makers who may not have a technical background.
• Supervise the development of ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data governance, access controls, and the secure management of sensitive health and regulated datasets.
• Leverage Azure Databricks, R, and SQL to design and implement scalable data science solutions.
• Senior-level Data Scientist with the ability to work autonomously.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Databricks.
• Advanced skills in R programming.
• Strong experience with SQL and database management.
• Demonstrated experience with machine learning methodologies, including predictive modeling and Random Forest techniques.
• Experience in handling sensitive health, research, or highly regulated datasets.
• Must possess a current CITI Certification or be able to acquire one promptly.
• Advanced experience with R Shiny applications.
• Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD pipeline practices.
• PhD or substantial practical experience in Data Science within a related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of Bayesian hierarchical modeling, spatial/geospatial modeling, model validation, and advanced statistical analysis techniques.
• Previous consulting experience with external clients, especially within government or public sector environments.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or comparable data warehouse settings, including ETL/ELT pipeline development, relational and NoSQL databases, data governance, strict access controls, and MLOps practices.
