Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and implement real-time algorithms for courier compensation and incentives that align supply with delivery demand.

• Develop constrained optimization and machine learning models aimed at enhancing spending efficiency and ensuring fair earnings.

• Spearhead causal inference and experimentation strategies, which include switchback and geo-testing methodologies.

• Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to convert marketplace objectives into scalable, low-latency production solutions.

• Oversee the health of live models, address performance deviations, and establish fail-safes for production systems.

• Provide mentorship to team members through code reviews and offer technical support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in developing machine learning models, dynamic pricing algorithms, or constrained optimization solutions.

• Strong command of Python and SQL programming languages.

• Experience in deploying reliable models within production settings.

• Practical understanding of causal inference and marketplace experimentation, including the design of A/B and switchback tests.

• Dedication to creating fair and transparent algorithmic incentives.

• Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.

• Proven experience in utilizing AI agents for data analysis, coding, code reviews, and managing technical workflows.

• Experience in deploying and maintaining low-latency, real-time streaming machine learning systems (preferred).

• Background in on-demand logistics, ride-hailing, food delivery marketplaces, or algorithmic revenue management (preferred).

• Familiarity with tools such as Kafka, Google BigQuery, AWS S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, or contemporary ML tracking platforms (preferred).

• Experience with GPS data, spatial indexing techniques such as H3 or S2, and fine-grained time-series forecasting (preferred).
