This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Lead the design and implementation of statistical and machine learning solutions that facilitate high-impact, data-driven decisions throughout the organization.
• Take ownership of intricate and ambiguous challenges from start to finish, including framing the question and deploying and monitoring the solution in a production environment.
• Analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies; identify root causes and highlight opportunities that influence product and business strategies.
• Design and build data pipelines to access, clean, and transform large raw datasets, establishing reusable patterns.
• Create, implement, and oversee business rules for cash flow underwriting and repayment processes.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business leaders to convert strategic priorities into data science roadmaps and influence high-level decisions.
• Identify significant problems and develop or define suitable solutions.
• Design and execute comprehensive experimentation programs, including A/B testing, to validate hypotheses and measure business impact.
• Develop, prototype, validate, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms while balancing accuracy, latency, cost, and maintainability.
• Effectively communicate technical insights and model outcomes to both senior and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations, reports, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and designers in mission-oriented teams.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data science roles.
• Proven track record of delivering models that resulted in measurable business impact.
• Capability to independently manage projects and guide others through technical uncertainties.
• Experience in deploying models to production and maintaining them through monitoring, retraining, and updates.
• Technical degree in data science, computer science, analytics, AI, or equivalent applied experience in building and evaluating production models.
• Proficient in SQL, including clean and efficient transformations; experience with DBT is preferred.
• Advanced programming skills with expertise in sklearn, pandas, numpy, and either TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Prior experience in the fintech and lending sectors.
• Authorization to work for any employer in Canada or the US for at least the next 12 months.
