This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Design and refine allocation and optimization algorithms for the distribution of products among distribution centers and retail locations.
• Manage and improve inventory simulation tools to evaluate scenarios and replenishment strategies, including backtesting and what-if analysis.
• Transition prototyped solutions from notebooks to production environments by constructing large-scale data pipelines.
• Analyze and present business KPIs such as service level, stockouts, turnover, and fill rate to relevant business stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with data engineering teams to manage pipelines in the AWS cloud.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Data Science with a focus on solving business challenges.
• Proficient in advanced Python (NumPy, Pandas; additional knowledge of Polars is a plus) and SQL.
• Understanding of statistics and probability applied to forecasting and service level assessments.
• Familiarity with PySpark and large-scale data pipeline development.
• Experience working with AWS technologies (Glue, S3).
• Preferred: expertise in optimizing Python performance (Numba JIT) and in allocation/optimization algorithms.
• Preferred: experience in multi-echelon inventory simulation.
• Preferred: knowledge of Streamlit/Plotly, Terraform, and CI/CD practices.
• Preferred: experience with AWS Step Functions.
• Preferred: experience in leading projects or mentoring fellow data scientists.
