Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and enhance sophisticated detection and diagnostic models for solar and storage systems.

• Facilitate quicker detection, reduce the need for truck rolls, and improve customer satisfaction.

• Report directly to the Director of Data Science and collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and operations to transition models from concept to execution within Omnidian’s Resolv platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience; 6+ years in applied data science.

• Extensive hands-on experience with time-series methodologies: anomaly detection, forecasting, seasonal decomposition, state-space models.

• Experience in production machine learning including model deployment, monitoring, and retraining pipelines.

• Proficient in Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) and SQL; familiarity with at least one of PyTorch/TensorFlow.

• Experience handling noisy, irregularly sampled, multi-sensor data at scale.

• Proven track record of managing modeling projects from start to finish — converting ambiguous business challenges into quantifiable model outputs and successfully deploying them.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate within a large, cross-functional team.

• Experience in mentoring data scientists or engineers and enhancing team standards.

• Familiarity with architectural and tooling decisions for production ML systems on a prominent cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GC).
