This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Collaborate with Stars, member experience, and operations leaders to identify CAHPS performance drivers and convert them into analytical solutions.
β’ Segment members based on their likelihood to respond to the CAHPS survey and their predicted satisfaction levels.
β’ Develop and refine models that forecast member-level risk of low CAHPS domain scores.
β’ Examine item-level CAHPS survey data to pinpoint survey questions that influence measure performance.
β’ Create pipelines that monitor CAHPS survey administration cycles, sampling processes, fielding, and response rates.
β’ Validate case-mix adjustment logic according to CMS/NCQA standards.
β’ Model statistical significance and year-over-year variance to differentiate performance changes from survey noise or sampling errors.
β’ Coordinate with CAHPS survey vendors regarding sampling methodologies, fielding schedules, and case-mix adjustment specifications.
β’ Work alongside engineering teams to version, test, and deploy models utilizing Git, CI/CD pipelines, and VM environments.
β’ Partner with member experience, call center, provider network, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure outputs and interventions align with CMS guidance.
β’ Construct dashboards that track CAHPS performance against Star Rating thresholds and trends from previous years.
β’ Assist in standardizing definitions, documentation logic, and reporting workflows for CAHPS analytics across the enterprise.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in predictive modeling and analysis, specifically applied to survey-based or member experience data.
β’ A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline is required.
β’ Proven experience with CMS/NCQA CAHPS survey methodology, including case-mix adjustment, sampling and fielding cycles, and psychometric methods such as item response theory.
β’ Familiarity with individual CAHPS measure domains.
β’ Knowledge of CMS Star Ratings procedures.
β’ Experience in developing end-to-end data science solutions and employing machine learning techniques to tackle real-world issues with measurable results.
β’ Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
β’ Proficient programming skills in Python, Java, R, Scala, or C++.
β’ Demonstrated expertise in SQL and relational databases.
β’ Experience in data visualization and presentation.
β’ Background in establishing experimental or analytical frameworks for complex, ambiguous situations.
β’ Understanding of confidence intervals, significance of error measurement, and the development/evaluation of data sets.
β’ Experience in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensional, and unstructured data from various sources.
β’ Preferred: Experience in healthcare, especially within Medicare Advantage.
β’ Preferred: Experience using NLP techniques for analyzing open-ended survey comments.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with cloud ecosystems such as Azure or AWS.
β’ Preferred: Published research related to survey methodology, psychometrics, or member experience measurement.
β’ A proven ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize needs, and achieve results in an agile, dynamic setting.
