This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with Utilization Management, clinical, and business teams to uncover opportunities for enhancing healthcare quality, member outcomes, affordability, and provider experience.
• Create, develop, validate, and execute predictive models for assessing clinical risk, utilization trends, quality gaps, and potential intervention strategies.
• Utilize statistical modeling, machine learning, and analytical techniques to influence population health and healthcare decision-making.
• Construct and sustain analytical datasets and features using medical, pharmacy, laboratory, and provider claims data.
• Convert intricate healthcare business challenges into analytical solutions in partnership with clinicians, clinical informaticists, and business stakeholders.
• Assess model performance and convey actionable insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Investigate and expand innovative analytical methodologies to enhance healthcare results and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to the establishment of data science best practices, modeling standards, and reusable analytical frameworks.
• Effectively manage work independently in a dynamic and occasionally ambiguous environment.
• Report directly to the Associate Director of Data Science.
• Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, or a related quantitative field.
• Over 4 years of experience in developing, validating, and implementing predictive models within healthcare, managed care, population health, or a similar setting.
• Proven experience in independently creating predictive models that have impacted clinical, operational, or financial outcomes.
• Advanced skills in Python, R, SAS, or equivalent programming languages for statistical analysis and machine learning.
• Experience working with large, intricate healthcare datasets, including claims, clinical, pharmacy, or laboratory data.
• Understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, model validation, and performance evaluation methodologies.
• Ability to translate complex analytical results and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience in predictive modeling for risk stratification, utilization management, care management, or value-based care.
• Preferred: experience in a managed care environment.
• Preferred: knowledge of causal inference, causal machine learning, NLP, or deep learning techniques.
• Preferred: familiarity with Spark or PySpark.
• Preferred: experience in deploying and monitoring machine learning models in a production setting.
• Preferred: knowledge of healthcare claims, clinical, pharmacy, laboratory, or EMR data such as Epic.
• Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for remote work.
