This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain dependable data pipelines that transform raw claims data from various sources into enriched, standardized formats utilizing tools such as Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, Trino, ClickHouse, Airflow, Datadog, and AWS cloud services.

• Integrate automated observability and monitoring to ensure data quality.

• Create privacy-preserving datasets while safeguarding PHI, by executing de-identification and PII-reduction protocols established with Security, Infrastructure, and Product teams.

• Prepare technical designs and documentation.

• Gather and prioritize technical and product feedback from internal stakeholders.

• Rapidly iterate with a focus on delivering value.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing data models, pipelines, and comprehensive analytical solutions.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.

• Familiarity with healthcare claims data, including EDI 837/835 files, researcher datasets (CMS VRDC, CMS Limited Data Set), commercial claims (Komodo, MarketScan), or similar data.

• Advanced SQL skills, including the use of window functions, subqueries, CTEs, performance tuning, and indexing.

• Experience in data modeling to support various OLAP and OLTP workflows. Whether applying Kimball or One Big Table methodologies, you understand the trade-offs and know when to deviate from conventional practices.

• Proficient in object-oriented and functional programming paradigms, as well as code organization beyond mere scripting, including debugging workflows.

• Experience with ETL/ELT processes, orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), and data engineering patterns (e.g., append-only vs. inplace, medallion lakehouse).

• Capability to design scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective data systems, especially for compute and data-intensive tasks.

• Strong software engineering principles, encompassing automated testing, version control, and maintaining both software and data quality.

• Thoughtful application of AI coding agents and LLMs in development processes.

• Comfortable working remotely within a collaborative, technical team environment.
