This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and create sophisticated REDCap databases for clinical research and public health initiatives.
• Develop and sustain REDCap integrations with external systems utilizing APIs and ETL processes.
• Establish automated workflows for imports/exports, scheduling, authentication, and data synchronization.
• Formulate data validation protocols, generate discrepancy reports, and implement quality assurance measures along with monitoring dashboards.
• Operationalize and document data collection processes in line with study protocols.
• Generate and analyze internal and external reports for study monitoring.
• Execute quality control, validation, and user acceptance testing for data collection methodologies and systems.
• Create testing strategies and review outcomes.
• Assess and keep updated on new functionalities of EDC systems, including APIs and external modules.
• Mentor junior personnel and offer technical direction on database design, programming methodologies, and system functionalities.
• Adhere to established quality standards and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, client specifications, corporate standard operating procedures (SOPs), and project instructions.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, health sciences, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience leading EDC system development; OR a Master's degree in a related discipline, with 3+ years of experience in EDC system development.
• Proficient in EDC systems such as REDCap, REDCap Cloud, SurveyCTO, or OpenClinica, covering administration, design, quality control, and user acceptance testing.
• Advanced experience in constructing complex longitudinal, multi-arm, multilingual, and survey-based REDCap projects.
• Experience in integrating EDC systems with EHRs, laboratory information systems, cloud storage, or reporting platforms via APIs or ETL pipelines.
• Skilled in designing edit checks, automated validation rules, data cleaning processes, discrepancy management, and audit trails.
• Experienced in managing development, testing, and production environments using documented change control, versioning, and release management methodologies.
• Strong QA/QC and troubleshooting abilities concerning REDCap configuration, APIs, system performance, and integrations with external systems.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Familiarity with clinical research data standards and regulations, including NIH Common Data Elements, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, or FAIR principles, is highly preferred.
