This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of data engineers while remaining engaged with architecture, design, code reviews, debugging, and delivery processes.
• Collaborate with Technical Product Managers and Data leads to convert roadmap priorities, customer requirements, and research objectives into scalable technical strategies.
• Design and enhance scalable data pipelines, data models, and quality assurance systems for diverse data products.
• Work alongside business stakeholders and PMs to ensure the dependable delivery of data pipelines, incident resolution, methodologies, and operational enhancements.
• Leverage AI coding tools to develop and refine methodologies, expedite engineering execution, enhance documentation, bolster quality assurance, support technical exploration, and elevate team productivity.
• Foster clarity and momentum in uncertain environments by deconstructing complex data, research, and product challenges into actionable engineering plans.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, big data development, ETL engineering, or related technical fields.
• At least 3 years of managerial experience, which includes mentoring, team leadership, and facilitating delivery.
• Proven experience in managing, mentoring, or formally leading data engineers or technical teams in a hands-on player-coach role.
• Strong practical expertise with SQL, PySpark, Databricks, and Airflow or other similar workflow orchestration and AI tools.
• Experience in building, maintaining, or scaling critical business data systems, including pipelines, production datasets, data delivery systems, or customer-facing data products.
• Familiarity with application teams that handle OLTP and OLAP use cases.
• Profound technical judgment in areas such as data modeling, distributed data systems, pipeline architecture, orchestration, data quality, observability, and production reliability.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities, particularly with stakeholders from Product, Research, Operations, Client Success, Sales, and Engineering.
