Senior Data Engineer, Report Builder, Integration QA

📋 Description

• Organize and lead requirements workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts.

• Convert business inquiries into formalized reporting requirements.

• Assess existing reports from legacy systems to decide on their retirement, replacement, consolidation, or rebuilding within Workday.

• Evaluate and prioritize requests based on business value, data accessibility, and Workday capabilities.

• Maintain an inventory of reporting requirements along with a traceability matrix.

• Secure formal approval from business stakeholders on requirements and the reports delivered.

• Recognize and escalate issues related to data quality and process inefficiencies.

• Prepare evidence for unit testing and assist with System Integration Testing (SIT) and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) execution and defect management.

• Oversee report migration between tenants as part of the BMS release management process.

• Implement and enhance the Workday Reporting Governance Framework.

• Create functional and technical design documentation for each report.

• Conduct training for client report writers and key users on utilizing reports and basic report creation.

• Develop user manuals and a report catalog.

• Provide hypercare support following Go-Live and transition to the support team.

• Design and construct Workday reports, dashboards, Discovery Boards, and worklet-based analytics.

• Collaborate with the integration team to create integration data-source reports.

• Set up report sharing, scheduling, bursting, and output formats.

• Implement Workday security measures and enhance report performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and constructing various types of Workday reports: Simple, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending, and Transposed.

• Demonstrated experience in developing dashboards, Discovery Boards, and worklet-based analytics.

• Skilled in creating and managing calculated fields, custom report data sources, and report prompts.

• Experience in building reports that serve as data sources for integrations, including RaaS / Workday web services.

• Familiarity with configuring report sharing, scheduling, bursting, and output formats.

• Knowledge of Workday domain and business process security.

• Capability to optimize report performance and troubleshoot defects.

• Competence in planning and facilitating requirements workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs.

• Ability to translate business inquiries into structured reporting requirements.

• Skill in analyzing legacy reports to make informed decisions about their retirement, replacement, consolidation, or rebuilding in Workday.

• Proficiency in maintaining a reporting requirements inventory and traceability matrix.

• Ability to prepare unit test evidence and assist with SIT and BAT testing.

• Capability to produce functional and technical design documentation.

• Ability to provide knowledge transfer and develop user guides.
