Lead Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both batch and real-time data frameworks.

• Develop and enhance data models, transformations, and workflows utilizing SQL, Python, and dbt.

• Create and uphold integrations across cloud data platforms, data warehouses, and external data sources.

• Enhance database performance, data reliability, and cost efficiency through diligent monitoring and optimization.

• Implement data quality checks, unit tests, and validation processes to ensure data integrity.

• Convert customer engagement and CRM data needs into data models and pipelines that support Braze and other platforms.

• Work with customer events, user attributes, identity resolution, and data synchronization to facilitate personalized customer experiences.

• Collaborate with Data, Analytics, CRM, and CDP teams to align technical solutions with client needs and business objectives.

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and best practices to engineering teams.

• Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance productivity and workflows.

• Support multiple client engagements, communicate technical recommendations, and adapt to shifting priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or a related technical role.

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.

• Over 2 years of experience utilizing Python for building data applications and transformations.

• Practical experience with dbt and modular data transformation methodologies.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with modern data integration tools.

• Strong comprehension of data architecture, pipeline design, database performance, testing, and data quality assurance.

• Proven experience in translating business and customer engagement requirements into dependable data solutions.

• Experience in an agency or consulting environment, managing multiple clients, and adapting to evolving priorities.

• Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 level or equivalent).

• A valid work visa is required; sponsorship is not available.

• Contractors must provide proof of incorporation and current insurance.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with Snowflake, Hightouch, mParticle, or Databricks.

• Preferred: Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Architect or Data Engineer certification.

• Preferred: experience with customer data platforms, identity resolution, audience activation, and real-time data synchronization.

• Preferred: familiarity with Braze, CRM platforms, and customer engagement data models.

• Preferred: experience with BigQuery or Redshift.

• Preferred: knowledge of Power BI or Tableau.

• Preferred: understanding of data governance, privacy, security, and access controls.

• Preferred: exposure to AI/ML architectures, cloud-native AI services, or agentic workflows.

• Preferred: experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
