Senior Data Engineer, German

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and build data pipelines utilizing Databricks.

• Create and sustain reusable data products.

• Execute data governance and cataloguing with Unity Catalog.

• Integrate and transform data sourced from SAP systems.

• Develop solutions leveraging PySpark and SQL.

• Assist in source-to-target mapping, data modeling, and data quality controls.

• Collaborate with business, data, and platform stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Contribute to development processes using Git, including testing, deployment, and CI/CD.

• Document the solutions implemented and facilitate knowledge transfer.

• Communicate directly with client stakeholders in German.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive commercial experience with Databricks.

• Proficient in PySpark and SQL.

• Experience in designing and deploying production-grade data pipelines.

• Proven track record of building governed data products.

• Practical understanding of Unity Catalog and data governance principles.

• Experience in integrating SAP or other complex enterprise source systems.

• Familiarity with Azure or AWS data platform environments.

• Proficient in Git and CI/CD practices.

• Ability to work independently in a senior, client-facing position.

• Professional proficiency in German for direct communication with client stakeholders.

• Strong command of English and Polish.

• Knowledge of SAP data models or SAP S/4HANA is a plus.

• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools is advantageous.

• Familiarity with data quality, lineage, and observability is beneficial.

• Experience in the industrial manufacturing or machinery sectors is a plus.

• Previous experience delivering data products in a federated or domain-oriented model is desirable.
