Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.

📋 Description

• Create data infrastructure projects and proof-of-concept solutions tailored for analytics and Data Science users.

• Collaborate directly with business users, data scientists, and analytic engineers to address needs and implement tactical solutions.

• Initiate new ETL work tracks from conception and prototyping to fully developed solutions, transitioning to Allstate technology.

• Collaborate on fresh ideas and initiatives, executing rapid development of data and analytic work tracks.

• Utilize agile data analysis techniques involving parallel processing/programming, Oracle, SQL, Python, Power BI, and Fabric.

• Transform data engineering requirements from ideation to operational pilots and deliverables.

• Offer technical guidance to colleagues or Area of Responsibility (AOR) partners.

• Conduct data exploration, engineering, testing, and implementation tasks.

• Create prototypes for business or research objectives.

• Maintain data infrastructure for predictive modeling and analytics, ensuring monitoring, quality, and validation processes are in place.

• Develop enterprise data assets, information platforms, or data spaces.

• Formulate test plans and scripts, prepare test data, reconcile data sources, and carry out functional tests.

• Mentor team members while fostering innovation and process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience is preferred.

• Proficiencies in Business Intelligence (BI), Communication, Computer Programming, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Visualization, Product Roadmapping, Python (Programming Language), and Structured Query Language (SQL).

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in place of the stated education requirements.

• Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.

• Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is necessary.
