Senior Data Engineer – Cloud, Data Integration, Migration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable ETL and ELT pipelines.

• Create data integration solutions spanning cloud, on-premise, and third-party systems.

• Design and execute data migration solutions, encompassing extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and cutover processes.

• Conduct data profiling, root cause analysis, and assessments of data quality.

• Develop and enhance data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse solutions.

• Generate source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and comprehensive technical documentation.

• Assist in data governance, security, and compliance obligations.

• Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to comprehend requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Diagnose complex data issues and implement robust solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Contract duration of 3–6 months.

• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.

• Must show a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary proof is required.

• Proven experience in Data Engineering.

• Demonstrated success in delivering intricate Data Migration and Data Integration projects.

• Extensive experience working with large and complex datasets.

• Familiarity with AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.

• Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon Athena.

• Excellent skills in SQL development, optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Practical experience with AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL.

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT design patterns, data integration architectures, data warehousing, data lake and lakehouse architectures, data modeling, data profiling, data quality management, data validation, and reconciliation.

• Subject to satisfactory vetting, references, and occupational health checks.

• A DBS check may be required depending on the role.
