AWS Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and construct AWS cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

• Provide guidance to ADTs on cloud solution methodologies, deployment tactics, and architectural choices.

• Take ownership of automation from end-to-end, spanning IaC development to pipeline architecture and production operations.

• Engage in an on-call rotation and enhance observability and monitoring practices.

• Offer technical assistance and support to users of AWS and managed services.

• Design, implement, and uphold secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructures.

• Oversee AWS environments, troubleshooting and resolving performance, availability, and operational issues.

• Collaborate with teams in development, security, infrastructure, data engineering, and analytics.

• Maintain documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all environments.

• Execute backups, scheduled upgrades, and maintenance during designated maintenance windows.

• Monitor for security vulnerabilities and conduct ad hoc upgrades and maintenance.

• Assist in audit processes by supplying logs, reports, and system configurations.

• Administer and support AWS IAM roles, policies, permissions, and access controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Capability to obtain and sustain the necessary Public Trust level clearance.

• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment credit check as mandated by the Customer.

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 12 years of experience.

• Extensive, hands-on expertise in AWS architecture, networking, security, serverless/microservice frameworks, and containerization.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a focus on advanced Terraform skills.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including reusable/shared components for enterprise-level delivery.

• Practical experience in monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting SaaS application logs.

• Strong skills in Python and Bash scripting; Ansible experience is a bonus.

• Proficiency in configuration management, observability, reliability, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Expertise in cloud engineering processes utilizing automation tools like Terraform, Python, and GitLab CI for AWS workloads.

• Strong proficiency in Git, including branching and release strategies such as GitFlow.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Runners and IaC tools like CloudFormation.

• Preferred: Knowledge of PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript/Node.js, or other scripting languages.

• Preferred: Experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and resolving high-priority incidents in large, multi-tenant settings.

• Preferred: Experience working within an Agile framework.
