Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that process both structured and unstructured data from various sources.

• Construct and enhance data models and processing workflows that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting functions.

• Create monitoring and alerting systems to ensure optimal pipeline performance and uphold data quality standards.

• Develop dashboards, reports, and datasets utilizing Domo.

• Integrate data from external APIs and third-party systems, including Salesforce.

• Collaborate with teams across Software Engineering, Architecture, Product, Analytics, and IT.

• Convert business needs into effective technical solutions.

• Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback to fellow engineering team members.

• Mentor junior data engineers and assist in onboarding new team members.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives, and planning sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining ELT/ETL systems.

• Strong command of SQL, including advanced querying, data modeling, stored procedures, and query optimization techniques.

• Practical experience with Snowflake or BigQuery.

• Proficiency in Python programming.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud-native services, including Kinesis, Lambda, S3, SQS, and CDK.

• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines sourced from diverse origins.

• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, Agile work environment.

• Experience in creating datasets, dataflows, and dashboards within Domo.

• Background in developing integrations with SaaS APIs like Salesforce.

• Possession of AWS Data Analytics Certification or Snowflake Data Engineering Certification.

• Familiarity with MongoDB or DynamoDB.
