Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Cultivate a thorough understanding of key products, encompassing legacy code and various services.

• Take proactive measures to identify and implement solutions for issues, inefficiencies, risks, technical gaps, and areas for improvement.

• Engage in negotiations with product engineering teams to secure support for the implementation of changes.

• Develop strategies for both immediate gains and long-term enhancements.

• Sustain and improve existing data processes to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Acquire a detailed understanding of current tables, data flows, and jobs.

• Propel enhancements in reliability and performance throughout data workflows.

• Lead and execute initiatives aimed at modernizing data processes.

• Collaborate across teams to guarantee architectural alignment and the adoption of best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering.

• Proficient in SQL at an expert level, including the optimization of complex queries for performance and latency.

• Skilled in using DBT for data transformation and modeling.

• Strong foundational knowledge in data engineering and databases (DDL/DML/SQL).

• Practical experience with Snowflake and Elastic.

• Extensive experience in building, scaling, and managing large-scale data pipelines.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive projects to successful completion.

• Familiarity with Airflow for workflow orchestration is a plus.
