Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain Snowflake data models utilizing dimensional modeling techniques, such as star and snowflake schemas.

• Construct, test, and document dbt models across staging, intermediate, and mart layers.

• Enhance Snowflake performance and cost-efficiency through query optimization, warehouse monitoring, and effective data storage practices.

• Design and oversee ELT/ETL pipelines from ERP systems, APIs, flat files, and cloud platforms into Snowflake.

• Develop automation scripts and data processing workflows leveraging Python and cloud-native services.

• Execute data quality validations and conduct data reconciliation.

• Assist with data lineage tracking and documentation efforts.

• Collaborate with business analysts, reporting teams, and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and provide data solutions.

• Engage in code reviews, testing, deployments, and ongoing enhancement of data engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar capacity.

• Practical experience with Snowflake and dbt in a production setting.

• Knowledge of Snowflake data warehousing principles, including data modeling, SQL development, performance tuning, and data loading techniques.

• Proficient with dbt for model development, testing, documentation, and deployment processes.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, encompassing joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and data transformation methods.

• Skilled in Python for data processing, automation, and API integration tasks.

• Experience in constructing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines within cloud environments.

• Familiarity with BI and reporting tools, including Power BI or Tableau.

• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and associated data services.

• Understanding of Git version control and CI/CD methodologies.

• Excellent data modeling capabilities.

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Knowledge of ETL concepts.

• Proficient in Power BI.

• Skilled in Python.
