This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines along with backend queries that populate the semantic layer.
• Ensure a clear distinction between raw, clean, and reporting layers.
• Take full ownership of data modeling and the architecture of the semantic layer, encompassing structure, relationships, storage mode, and refresh behavior.
• Author, maintain, and optimize the performance of the DAX measure layer.
• Implement and uphold data frameworks and architectures to ensure consistent, accurate, and usable data.
• Create and sustain model documentation.
• Integrate, enhance, and manage multiple upstream data sources.
• Collaborate with business intelligence and data engineering teams regarding source changes, deployment practices, and the promotion from development to production.
• Act as the technical point of contact for model-related issues and manage investigations to identify root causes and solutions.
• Conduct on-demand complex data analysis to uncover strategic opportunities and efficiencies.
• Mentor junior team members involved in model quality assurance and report migration, providing feedback on their work.
• Contribute to applied AI initiatives, including agent-based access to model documentation and semantic models.
• Proficient in SQL, including T-SQL, capable of writing, reviewing, and debugging production analytical queries.
• Knowledge of Python sufficient for building and maintaining data transformation notebooks.
• Familiarity with DAX, including measure authoring, performance tuning, and evaluation context.
• Proven experience managing a large, centralized semantic model or equivalent analytical data product.
• Experience collaborating with data engineering and business intelligence teams on shared infrastructure.
• Ability to independently make and justify architectural decisions, while explaining trade-offs to both technical and business audiences.
• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Fabric (pipelines, lakehouses, warehouse, Direct Lake semantic models).
• Preferred: Proficiency in Tabular Editor.
• Preferred: Background in marketing measurement or attribution.
• Preferred: Experience in the insurance industry.
• Preferred: Experience in building or operating data quality frameworks.
• 3 or more years of experience is preferred.
• Must pass a background investigation.
