Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable, production-level data pipelines and real-time data streams.

• Design and write applications that are scalable and compatible with cloud environments.

• Lead technical projects throughout the architecture, design, and implementation stages.

• Collaborate with clients to comprehend both business and technical requirements, assess potential solutions, and outline high-level implementation strategies and estimates.

• Work together with Machine Learning, Data Science, Design, Software Engineering, and Business teams to address data or ETL challenges.

• Create tests and health checks to ensure the quality of code and data.

• Monitor and analyze data traversing different systems by incorporating suitable visualizations and dashboards.

• Contribute to internal engineering projects and initiatives by identifying areas for improvement, assessing solutions, and driving their implementation.

• Offer updates and guidance to clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and SQL at an advanced level.

• Experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of ETL processes.

• Familiarity with AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure in delivering data-focused product experiences.

• Over 5 years of experience in a related position.

• Experience with both in-memory and disk-based databases, including relational and non-relational databases, full-text search engines, and database design, development, and maintenance.

• Knowledge of data warehousing and multidimensional data models (columnar data modeling).

• Working familiarity with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and massive parallel processing.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate through ambiguity and incomplete specifications.

• Proficient in English; global team meetings, customer interactions, and business communications are conducted in English.
