This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain ELT pipelines that convert raw data into modular, thoroughly tested dbt models within Snowflake.
• Create and manage dependable data orchestration and workflows as the platform's complexity increases.
• Compose and uphold dbt tests to identify issues before they escalate.
• Document models and sources to ensure the discoverability of data meaning.
• Establish monitoring and alerting systems for pipeline failures and data anomalies.
• Enhance Snowflake table design and materialization strategies for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Advance Snowflake access controls and governance, including roles, grants, and security measures.
• Comprehend the data needs of internal teams and external clients, translating them into effective solutions.
• Implement engineering practices through version control, CI/CD, and code reviews.
• Construct data infrastructure and governance to support AI/ML use cases and ensure reliable access to high-quality data.
• Collaborate across data platforms, analytics engineering, and data infrastructure while influencing architecture and data practices.
• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering.
• Proven ability to autonomously manage complex data systems from design to production and make informed architectural decisions.
• Strong instincts for product and stakeholder engagement; adept at translating vague business requirements into robust data solutions.
• Extensive expertise in SQL and Snowflake at a production level.
• Significant experience with dbt, encompassing testing, documentation, dependencies, and deployment.
• Proficient in Git-based version control.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes for data pipelines.
• Strong Python programming skills for developing data pipelines, orchestration, and custom transformations.
• Proven track record of integrating testing, monitoring, and alerting into pipelines proactively.
• Knowledge of BI/analytics tools, preferably Sigma.
• Experience with orchestration and workflow tools.
• In-depth understanding of cloud platforms.
• Exposure to supporting ML/AI pipelines or streaming and real-time data.
• A curious mindset and eagerness to become a subject matter expert.
