This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior technical expert in the development of scalable, modular, and high-performance data systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement dependable data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives.
• Create and enhance ELT workflows utilizing Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, and Python.
• Design and uphold high-performance Snowflake data models, incorporating star schemas and dimensional modeling strategies.
• Optimize datasets for AI applications and text-to-SQL interfaces.
• Spearhead data observability initiatives, including alerting, monitoring, and incident management.
• Investigate and adopt open table formats such as Apache Iceberg.
• Work in conjunction with DevOps and Cloud teams to enhance AWS infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Set engineering best practices, encompassing version control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and analytics professionals.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and propose platform enhancements.
• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or related technical roles focused on large-scale data systems.
• Extensive experience with SQL and Python for data transformation and automation tasks.
• Practical experience with dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, and Snowflake.
• Solid knowledge of AWS components, including S3, Lambda, EC2, and IAM.
• Understanding of open data formats and scalable data lakehouse concepts, such as Iceberg.
• Experience in building and managing workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring frameworks.
• Proficiency in Git-based environments with strong CI/CD methodologies.
• Capability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary data team.
