Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the strategic vision for data engineering.

• Engage in the architectural design and development of intricate data solutions.

• Design and implement comprehensive data systems and infrastructure.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of data systems.

• Execute daily data engineering tasks alongside complex engineering projects.

• Influence decisions regarding the data technology stack, infrastructure, and tools.

• Create and deploy data architectures and workflows.

• Establish coding standards and best practices for the Data Engineering & Operations team.

• Conduct and participate in code reviews.

• Collaborate with database developers, software developers, product management, and AI/ML developers.

• Monitor progress, adjust priorities, and meet project deadlines and objectives.

• Identify and implement improvements to internal processes, including automation and data delivery optimization.

• Provide technical guidance and training to team members.

• Adhere to Assent’s corporate security policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7+ years of experience in data engineering.

• Strong project management abilities.

• Capable of effectively communicating complex concepts.

• Proficient in AWS, dbt, Snowflake, Git, R, Python, SQL, and SQL Server.

• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Understanding of data management systems.

• Familiarity with warehouse methodologies.

• Knowledge of data quality standards.

• Understanding of data modeling techniques.

• Familiarity with governance protocols.

• Knowledge of advanced analytics.

• Experience in agile work environments and scrum ceremonies.

• Strong business acumen.

• Experience in aligning data initiatives with business objectives.

• Familiarity with corporate security policies and related procedures.
