This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Engage proactively with business stakeholders to grasp context, challenges, and core needs; convert intricate requirements into clear, detailed technical specifications that facilitate the effective use of AI and analytics platforms.
• Assume full ownership of the data products you develop — overseeing every stage from ingestion through modeling, transformation, validation, to final delivery and continuous monitoring.
• Establish and uphold stringent validation processes, automated testing, and quality checks; serve as the steward of data accuracy and integrity, ensuring that metrics and KPIs accurately reflect the business landscape.
• Design and create data transformation layers that pre-aggregate business insights, apply uniform business rules, and provide datasets prepared for use in dashboards and AI applications.
• Collaborate with AI teams to define and prepare structured data, data dictionaries, and models that support AI platforms and intelligent reporting functionalities.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines from various sources, perform transformations using SQL and Python, and ensure the performance and scalability of solutions.
• Go beyond merely meeting requirements — proactively spot improvement opportunities, anticipate internal customer needs, propose innovative solutions, and question methods when necessary.
• Provide dependable data solutions with efficiency and accuracy, balancing the need for rapid iteration with the highest quality standards.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences; facilitate alignments, present solution proposals, and document modeling and architecture decisions.
• Proven experience in a senior-level Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering role.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, transformation, and validation.
• Strong background in data modeling and data warehouse design.
• Practical experience with BigQuery (or another cloud-based data warehouse platform).
• Ability to comprehend complex business logic and validate results from a business standpoint, beyond just the technical aspects.
• Strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach — a professional who suggests improvements, challenges requirements when necessary, and takes initiative without needing to be prompted.
• Experience in specifying and preparing data requirements for AI or machine learning applications.
• Advanced/fluent English (reading, writing, and speaking) — regular communication with international stakeholders is essential.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects swiftly and with quality.
• Nice to Have: Experience with dbt (data build tool) for the transformation and orchestration of analytical pipelines.
• Familiarity with data ingestion tools such as Airbyte or Airflow.
• Knowledge of automated testing best practices and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Previous experience in Supply Chain, Retail, or Consumer Goods industries.
• Involvement in projects that entail data preparation for consumption through generative AI or conversational analytics platforms.
