Senior Data Architect, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and implement robust data platforms and solutions utilizing Databricks and Azure.

• Create, develop, and enhance scalable data architectures on the Azure platform.

• Build and sustain data pipelines, models, and warehousing structures by adhering to industry best practices.

• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical designs.

• Lead the implementation of ETL/ELT frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.

• Support the integration of new data sources and the deployment of innovative capabilities.

• Establish and enforce standards for data governance, data modeling, and management.

• Diagnose data and platform issues to maintain reliable, high-performing solutions.

• Offer technical mentorship to junior team members on industry best practices and emerging tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Data Architect.

• Extensive practical experience with Databricks and Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL/SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory).

• Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines, data models, and analytics architectures within cloud environments.

• Strong skills in SQL, ETL/ELT processes, Python, and/or Scala for data engineering tasks.

• Knowledge of data governance, security, access control, and compliance in Azure.

• Comprehensive understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, and distributed systems.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities.

• Fluent in English (preferably at C1 level).

• Forward-thinking architectural perspective regarding AI and natural language querying of enterprise data.
