This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Design, develop, and sustain enterprise cybersecurity solutions utilizing Microsoft technologies.
• Engineer necessary security controls to comply with CMMC Level 2/3 and NIST SP 800-171 standards.
• Create and manage Microsoft Sentinel analytics, workbooks, automation rules, and incident response playbooks.
• Deploy and oversee Microsoft Defender XDR technologies, which include Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Design and manage Microsoft Intune along with endpoint security policies.
• Implement Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and Zero Trust security frameworks utilizing Microsoft Entra ID.
• Develop security automation using Logic Apps, Power Automate, KQL, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph.
• Create advanced KQL queries for threat hunting, compliance reporting, and security monitoring.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to strengthen Windows Server, Windows 11, Azure, and Microsoft 365 ecosystems.
• Assist in vulnerability management and remediation coordination using tools like Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management, Tanium, or equivalent platforms.
• Engage in security architecture assessments and provide engineering insights on emerging technologies.
• Aid in incident response activities during security investigations.
• Generate technical documentation, standards, and implementation guides.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related STEM field; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in enterprise security engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior technical position.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR).
• Demonstrated success in leading large-scale security initiatives and making architectural decisions.
• Expert understanding of Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems as well as enterprise networking concepts.
• Experience in leading incident response for significant security events.
• Strong technical writing capabilities for documentation and policy creation.
• Extensive scripting expertise using PowerShell.
• Advanced proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL).
• Experience in implementing security baselines and hardening standards.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
